The application deadline for Large Grants, Small Grants, and Tonia Harvey Research Grants is November 1, 2017. Quick Grants and Transportation Grants are accepted on a rolling basis.
Goals of the Grant Program
The Great Basin Heritage Area Partnership offers grants for innovative projects that will help accomplish the goals and objectives defined in the Management Plan. These goals are described in the Grant Guidelines. The grant program is designed to provide strategic investments in heritage sites, events, programs, materials and other projects of cultural, educational and recreational value in Millard County, Utah; White Pine County, Nevada; and adjacent tribal lands.
What We Fund
GBHAP funds projects that contribute to our mission of protecting and promoting the unique natural and cultural heritage of the Great Basin National Heritage Area. Please read the Grant Guidelines for details.
Who May Apply
Non-profit organizations, private organizations, local or regional government entities, federally recognized Indian tribes, or individuals may apply. Collaboration and partnerships are encouraged. The applicant must have sufficient capacity to manage the project to completion. Please read the Grant Guidelines for details.
To be eligible for funding, projects must further one or more goals of the GBNHA listed below. Projects that address two or more goals will be given higher consideration. Projects that incorporate the primary interpretive themes of the Great Basin National Heritage Area (see appendix in Grant Guidelines) are highly encouraged.

There are five grant categories: Tonia Harvey Research Grants* ($500 - $5,000); Transportation Grants ($250 - $1,500; Quick Grants ($500 - $1,500); Small Grants ($1,501 - $5,000); and Large Grants ($5,001 - $20,000). If your project involves a historic resource or site, you must complete the Historic Resources Questionnaire.
*The Tonia Harvey Research Grant is named for the Partnership's co-founder and first president. With a love of its landscape and passion for its people, Ms. Harvey fought tirelessly for the preservation of the Great Basin and the creation of the Great Basin National Heritage Area.
Applications for Transportation and Quick Grants will be accepted on a rolling basis (no deadline). The application deadline for Large Grants, Small Grants, and Tonia Harvey Research Grants is November 1, 2017.
